History

Dell Loy Hansen, CEO and founder, has been the driving force behind the Wasatch Group since its inception in 1988. Mr. Hansen's vision and leadership has established numerous affiliated companies that are entrepreneurial in spirit and react quickly to opportunities and changes in their respective markets.

Wasatch began in 1988 on the heels of the nation's Savings and Loan Crisis by purchasing well-located multi-family properties from the Resolution Trust Corporation. Wasatch's multi-family portfolio continued to grow through the early nineties and in 1993 Wasatch purchased its first commercial office property - The Woodlands - in Salt Lake City. Wasatch's hallmark acquisition occurred in 2001 when it purchased the Wells Fargo Center, a 600,000 square foot class-A office building located in the heart of Salt Lake City's central business district and home to Wasatch's Salt Lake City front offices.

Since that time Wasatch has expanded its commercial holdings within the footprint of its residential holdings and has developed and acquired commercial properties in California, Utah and Washington. As the multi-family and commercial portfolios continued to grow, Wasatch decided to divide the commercial and residential operations. Wasatch Property Management continues as the owner/operator of Wasatch's multi-family properties and Wasatch Commercial Management was formed to deal with all commercial properties.

As Wasatch grew into other states, it continued to focus on catering to tenants' needs - to both the company and its employees. Instead of categorizing tenants as a percentage of a building's occupancy, Wasatch created unique relationships with tenants by continually identifying ways to improve their workplace lifestyle.

Today, Wasatch has grown from one man's vision into a multi-billion dollar portfolio of premier real estate properties offering focused service across multiple markets.
